The "Consumer Behavior" professorship of ETH Zurich conducts a longitudinal study regarding the eating behavior of the Swiss population and about other aspects related to nutrition and food consumption. The Food Panel Switzerland is a yearly survey among a random sample of persons from the German- and French-speaking parts of Switzerland. We are specifically interested in how people’s food consumption patterns change over time and which factors are related to these changes.

We already conducted the Food Panel 1.0 a couple of years ago. The study was successfully conducted for the planned four years, thanks to a large number of participants. A lot of new insights were gained about eating behavior of the population. Results were published in scientific journals, national reports and used for teaching.

Starting in February 2017, the Food Panel will be conducted for the second time with new research questions and a new sample of participants.
